Description
Rosewood uPVC Wide Combination Casement Window — Panoramic Central View, Complete Ventilation, Deep Woodgrain Character
A Five-Light Design Where Every Pane Has a Purpose
Wide combination windows can look assembled rather than designed — a collection of opening and fixed lights pushed together to fill a large opening without a clear compositional logic tying them together. Our Rosewood uPVC Wide Combination Casement Window is the opposite of that. Five carefully positioned lights — a top-hung vent and side-hung casement on the left, a wide central fixed picture pane with a fixed top light above, a fixed top light and side-hung casement on the right — create a window where every light serves a specific purpose and the Rosewood frame ties the whole composition together with the warmth and depth of heritage timber character.
Left Section — Two Heights, Two Opening Styles
The left-hand section of this window divides into two independent zones, each with its own opening light serving a distinct ventilation purpose at a different height level.
At the upper left, the top-hung vent opens outward from its top edge to create a ventilation gap at ceiling level — extracting warm stale air from the upper zone of the room continuously and rain-resistantly. This is the background ventilation light — safe to leave open around the clock in all but the most severe weather, maintaining a constant gentle air exchange without draughts at occupant level.
Below it, the side-hung casement swings fully outward when active ventilation is needed — delivering strong, generous airflow into the occupied zone of the room at mid-to-lower frame height. The two left-hand lights work together for layered ventilation across two height levels simultaneously, or independently according to the ventilation requirement at any moment.
Wide Central Fixed Picture Pane — The Panoramic Heart
The wide central fixed picture pane is the visual and structural centrepiece of this five-light design. Spanning the full height of the lower central section without any horizontal rail interrupting the view at eye level, it presents the outdoor space — garden, terrace, landscape, or aspect — as a clean, wide, unobstructed panorama at exactly the height where it is most directly experienced from inside the room.
No handle, no hinge, no vent indicator sits within the central glazed area at eye level. The view through the central section is clear, wide, and hardware-free — framed on both sides by the deep Rosewood outer sections and above by the fixed central top light, giving the outdoor view the quality of a picture in a frame rather than simply a window in a wall.
Right Section — Fixed Top Light and Active Casement
The right-hand section mirrors the outer active character of the left while creating a subtle asymmetry that adds visual interest to the overall composition. A fixed top light at the upper right sits at the same height as the top-hung vent on the left, maintaining the consistent upper-section proportions across the full width of the frame. Below it, the side-hung casement opens outward on its right-hand hinge — mirroring the left casement and completing the bilateral ventilation arrangement across the full outer width.
When both outer casements are open simultaneously, fresh air enters from the left and the right simultaneously — flowing across the room from both sides and ventilating the space more evenly and thoroughly than any single-sided arrangement can achieve.
Why Rosewood Makes This Window Exceptional
In Rosewood, this five-light combination window becomes one of the most visually striking configurations in the range. The deep rich brown woodgrain finish runs across every frame element — the outer border, the fixed top lights, the central picture pane border, the horizontal rail on the left section, and the central mullions — with a consistency and warmth that gives the wide composition an immediate and lasting visual impact.
On a window of this width, the Rosewood frame has more surface area to express its character than on any narrower design. The deep warm tone sits against the five panes of clear double glazing with a boldness that white uPVC cannot achieve — making the window a defining feature of the elevation rather than simply an element within it. The woodgrain texture within the Rosewood finish catches light differently across the day, giving the frame the dynamic visual quality of natural timber without any of the maintenance demands.
Thermal Efficiency Across All Five Panes
All five panes in this double glazed uPVC window are built to the same A-rated thermal specification. The 70mm multi-chamber uPVC frame, 28mm argon-filled sealed units, soft coat low-E glass, and warm-edge black superspacer bar deliver a U-value of 1.3 W/m²K consistently across every light — fixed and opening alike — meeting Part L Building Regulations throughout the full five-light width.
The Rosewood Finish — Heritage Character, Zero Maintenance
Our Rosewood uPVC windows carry a factory-applied woodgrain foil co-extruded with the uPVC profile that will not peel, fade, crack, or lift under any weather or UV exposure conditions. The profile carries a full 10-year guarantee against discolouration, warping, and deterioration. Maintenance is limited to an occasional wipe with a damp cloth — no painting, no varnishing, no seasonal upkeep across the full five-light width of the frame.
Security Across Every Opening Light
All three opening lights — the top-hung vent and left side-hung casement, plus the right side-hung casement — are independently secured with multi-point locking systems engaging at multiple points along the full height of each light. Lockable push-button handles are fitted to all three opening lights as standard. All five panes are retained by internal glazing beads throughout, preventing glass removal from the exterior on any section. Patented double-action bubble gaskets run the full perimeter of all three opening lights.

Five Lights, Three Opening Styles, One Deep Rosewood Frame
When a wide opening demands the most complete combination of panoramic view, multilevel ventilation, and heritage visual character — this five-light Rosewood combination window delivers all three simultaneously. A wide central picture pane presenting the outdoor space without interruption. A top-hung vent and twin side casements covering every ventilation need from background refresh to active bilateral airflow. And the deep warm Rosewood frame giving the whole five-light composition the traditional character and elevation presence that make it one of the most visually distinguished and most practically complete designs in our entire Rosewood uPVC window range.
