Three panels is the configuration most people land on once they've measured their actual opening and realised four panels won't fit but two feels too small — one sliding door, two fixed panels, a genuinely wide result without an oversized footprint.
Golden Oak's lighter woodgrain works particularly well here, where the frame-to-glass ratio is a touch more visible than on the full four-panel version — it keeps the whole unit feeling bright rather than heavy.
Living With It Day to Day
One panel does all the moving, sliding the full length of the track; the other two are fixed in place, adding width to the opening without adding anything that needs regular operation.

The frame and glazing spec doesn't change based on pane count — the same 70mm profile and Low-E, argon-filled units used on the four-panel door are standard here too.
Locked Down Properly
The sliding panel carries the full multipoint lock and anti-lift system; the fixed panels are internally beaded, meaning there's genuinely nothing external to force on that side of the door.
